Service Interruptions

Your water service may be interrupted due to one of a variety of reasons, several of which involve maintenance of our water distribution system. Potential causes of service interruptions include meter changes, main repairs and service line repairs.

Scheduled Shutdowns

Water service may be interrupted due to scheduled repairs. In these situations, Summit Water makes every effort to notify customers in advance. Service may also be interrupted due to an unforeseen emergency such as a water main break. In these cases, notification of affected customers may not always be possible.

Due to Non-Payment

In the event you have not paid your bill within the established time frames, service to your home or business may be discontinued.

If service is discontinued, the past due balance will need to be paid in full prior to service being restore.  Please contact our office at 435-649-7324 to pay the past due amount or arrange a payment schedule.  You can also pay in person at our office located at 8506 Blue Bird Lane, Park City, Utah 84098.

Once you have made the proper arrangements and/or payments, service will be restored within 24 hours.

Please be aware that charges will be applied to your account when your water service is discontinued.   The charge for interrupted service is $165.

What to Expect

After service has been restored, you may experience an uneven or pulsating stream of water from your faucets or fixtures when you first use them. This is usually caused by a small amount of air trapped in your plumbing lines and will resolve itself after a few minutes through normal water usage. When pipe lines in the streets are disturbed due to repairs in your area, mineral sediments sometimes break loose and cause rusty or dirty-looking water. The sediments are harmless mineral deposits that naturally occur in water. If the water does not clear after running it for a few minutes, please call us, and a service inspector will investigate the cause.

If you experience reduced or uneven flow at your faucets, cleaning all faucet aerators (screens) should alleviate the problem. Remove the aerator, clean it out, and the problem should go away. Please be aware that all plumbing that has been maintained properly will not be affected by most maintenance work performed by Summit Water.

If you still have a problem please contact us: (435) 649-7324.
